Online Safe Spaces – OSS

The Online Safe Space (OSS) is a tailored, recurring monthly online mentoring, digital learning, and networking space, facilitated by African feminist practitioners, to collectively learn, share knowledge, and strengthen the skills and connections within the network by bringing together the wider FemPeaceEA network together.

In the face of growing backlash against feminist movements, ongoing rights violations, and shrinking civic space, Online Safe Spaces provide a safer environment for dialogue, connection, collaboration, share experiences, support one another, and grow a culture of collective care across our network in East Africa.

To date, the FemPeaceEA project has implemented more than 30 sessions on topics including Feminist Peacebuilding, African Feminism, Feminist Self and Collective Care, Decolonial African Feminist Approaches in Advocacy and Storytelling, Strategies for Anticipatory Actions, Gendered Disinformation, and Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), among others.
