About FemPeaceEA

The East Africa Feminist Peace Network (FemPeaceEA) supports collaborations and coalitions between grassroots feminist organizations across borders to collectively shape and build gender-responsive, inclusive, and transformative feminist sustainable peace. We advocate and support grassroots feminist work towards securing social, political, economic, and environmental rights and all efforts on the elimination of gender-based discrimination and oppression.

Our Approach

As a project initiated by an African feminist and led by a team of African feminists who openly identify as feminists, we partner with women-led feminist organizations and African feminist experts to implement all project activities, in line with African feminist approaches and practices.

The FemPeaceEA Team acknowledges the participating feminist organizations and team members as experts making impact in their communities across various geographies. We recognize grassroots African feminists as critical actors in laying the path towards peace and security in their communities, on the frontlines of movements building transformative and sustainable peace.
