Our Approach

As a project initiated by an African feminist and led by a team of African feminists who openlyidentify as feminists, we partner with women-led feminist organizations and African feministexperts to implement all the project activities, in line with African feminist approaches andpractices. We embrace the approaches of intersectional feminism, recognizing our multipleidentities and how we experience oppression, and using the intersectional lens in our collaboration.
In all our collaborative efforts, we encourage participatory peer learning, safe spaces, mentorship, co-creation, partnership, and networking to facilitate cross-country solidarity andbuilding alliances between grassroots feminist organizations in forging vital connections acrossdifferent struggles for transformative social change.

The FemPeaceEA network brings together women-led grassroots feminist initiatives in all diversities across Uganda, Ethiopia, and Kenya for East African feminist peacebuilding.
